Introducing Chris McLoughlin

Chris McLoughlin joins R&D Solutions as Operations & Sales Supervisor

The R&D Solutions team continues to grow and we were pleased in late 2016 when Chris McLoughlin joined us in Perth as Operations & Sales Supervisor. Chris has jumped into the role with enthusiasm and has already become familiar to many of our customers.

Chris has post-graduate Geology/Geophysics qualifications, and previously spent nearly five years in mudlogging and drilling for a global service company. In this role Chris coordinated a team of over seventy field crew across the Australasian geo-market, giving him both valuable experience, and a healthy respect, for logistics and communication.

As a relative newcomer to the team, Chris is excited at the challenge ahead. “I think we are perfectly placed to meet the demands of an industry coming back online,” he said.

Of the new and improving technology available to customers, Chris is equally as enthusiastic.

“The relationships we’ve built enable us to bring new and industry improving technology direct to the well planning table and in front of the people that need to see it,” he said.

“A great example of this is our DrillCool well temperature control technology. DrillCool is a US-based company operating globally who solve complex temperature-related challenges both downhole and at surface. High temperature returns was always a challenge for mudlogging crews (fumes, burns and general work conditions) not to mention what it can do to expensive equipment, so to represent a company like DrillCool means I can help mitigate those hazards.”

Chris’ experience has been valuable to R&D Solutions as it makes this tehnology available to its customers.

“We have placed units in PNG and will be driving the DrillCool expansion into Australian operations.”
