Solar Panel Installation Continues Evolution of R&D Solution Workshop

The evolution of R&D Solutions’ Welshpool workshop has continued with the installation of solar panels providing a sustainable new power source.

The 43 panels provide a combined output of 12.5 KW three-phase power, with the system smart-phone enabled for tracking purposes. The installation not only assists R&D Solutions to reduce carbon emissions and offsets power bills, it ensures there is adequate use of air conditioning units during the hotter summer months for staff as they conduct manual operations.

The new solar system, pictured below, adds to the evolution of expanded R&D Solutions’ workshop, which the company occupied in 2015 and has refurbished to meet the high expectations of the industry and the safety requirements of staff. The new workshop provides 2,000 sqm of space in total, with two overhead cranes and storage for a range of drilling and completions parts and accessories.

The enhanced workshop and warehouse complement an enhanced inventory management capability, with new systems and staff helping R&D Solutions meet the needs of its customers better than ever before.

Russell Furner, R&D Solutions’ Managing Partner said the solar panel installation was a win-win for the company.
